California Cows

Staring California Cow
A California cow, probably a cow intended for beef looking at me from the farm lands. I felt it looks at me as if I am a paparazzi. Cows color gave a nice contrast to the background.

Cattle Farm Fields - California

Cattle Farm fields - East California
North eastern part of California has beautiful cattle farms with dry grass extending acres of hilly land. These cattle farms are major source of income through dairy and meat. Earlier the same cows used for dairy are used for meat, but recently the FDA regulations requires cattle of specific intend are treated and feed in a different way. This farm had a bright red color which gave a nice contrast to the dry lands and the blue skies.

Half Dome from Glacier point.

Glacier Point View
The pic captures Half Dome, one of the major hiking point in Yosemite NP from Glacier point. Its a granite dome which was always half from the beginning even though many of us might think that there was another half once. This place is one of the dangerous and difficult hikes in northern america, but around 1000 people a day hike to the top of the dome. Because of its fame, now the park service requires permit for hiking just the dome. Defaulters will have a huge fines of $5000 and up to 6 months in jail :).

Blue American Dipper

The blue American Dipper...
Blue American Dipper captured near the Yosemite waterfall. These are the most populated bird in Yosemite. Even though they usually live in lower elevation areas of Northern and Central america, its holding on to Yosemite for some reason. Its said that one of the amusing attraction during winter in Yosemite is to see this bird trying to get under the frozen(icy) water-body to find its food.
