Staring California Cow
A California cow, probably a cow intended for beef looking at me from the farm lands. I felt it looks at me as if I am a paparazzi. Cows color gave a nice contrast to the background.

Cattle Farm Fields - California

Cattle Farm fields - East California
North eastern part of California has beautiful cattle farms with dry grass extending acres of hilly land. These cattle farms are major source of income through dairy and meat. Earlier the same cows used for dairy are used for meat, but recently the FDA regulations requires cattle of specific intend are treated and feed in a different way. This farm had a bright red color which gave a nice contrast to the dry lands and the blue skies.

Half Dome from Glacier point.

Glacier Point View
The pic captures Half Dome, one of the major hiking point in Yosemite NP from Glacier point. Its a granite dome which was always half from the beginning even though many of us might think that there was another half once. This place is one of the dangerous and difficult hikes in northern america, but around 1000 people a day hike to the top of the dome. Because of its fame, now the park service requires permit for hiking just the dome. Defaulters will have a huge fines of $5000 and up to 6 months in jail :).

Blue American Dipper

The blue American Dipper...
Blue American Dipper captured near the Yosemite waterfall. These are the most populated bird in Yosemite. Even though they usually live in lower elevation areas of Northern and Central america, its holding on to Yosemite for some reason. Its said that one of the amusing attraction during winter in Yosemite is to see this bird trying to get under the frozen(icy) water-body to find its food.

Point Reyes National Seashore

Point Reyes National Seashore and Historic Lighthouse
Photo taken during evening on a foggy day. Sunny day would have been better. Its a great place for sight seeing. Climbing down 308 steps to see this light house was an adventure :). As this place is famous for its fog, this lighthouse was used in John Carpenter's horror movie "The Fog" in 1980. When we were in the lighthouse the lighthouse keeper was telling about an interesting story "During the April 18 earthquake, this lighthouse and the Point Reyes area moved 18 feet in less than a minute". Its a funny coincidence that 18 feet shift on 18th of April.

Pier 39 Carousel, San Francisco

Carousel(Marry-go-round) at Pier 39, San Francisco
This pic is of Carousel at Pier 39 taken during evening. The blue colored sky in the background of Carousel made the moment interesting for the capture. Pier 39 is famous for the docks full of California sea lions. The fact is no one is sure about why these sea lions are interested in Pier 39 docks when usually they harbor at big sea rocks.

Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco, California
Picture of Golden gate bridge on an unusual clear afternoon. I was lucky to get this clear shot after a few tries. This is one of the most internationally recognized symbol of California and United States in general. At the same time this bridge has witnessed the highest number of suicides than any other sites in the world. Its said that most of them dead by the impact to the water at 75mph others with hypothermia as its very cold water.

California Brown Pelicans..
Pic was taken during a pelican attempting a clean landing on the Pier 1 near the bay bridge, SFO. These brown pelicans of California(californicus) are said to be the smallest of eight other species of pelicans. These can weigh up to 12pounds. These species were almost extinct due to the DDT pesticides. US banned the use of DDT in 1972 since then the californicus population is increased.

Kid with a boat in hand pointing
Picture of a statue from lovers point recreation area along Monterey bay coastal bike path. This statue was looking so real that I looked at what this kid was pointing for a sec."Yesterday's Dream -- Tomorrow's Memory" is a bronze sculpture by Dorothy Fowler (1990). It was commissioned by the Pacific Grove High School Class of 1944 as a memorial to Lover’s Point and to the individuals who left home to fight in the war. Fall colors in Peninsula state park, Wisconsin
This picture was taken during our visit around Chicago to see fall colors. Peninsula state park is part of Door county Wisconsin, which captures most of the colors of fall season. This picture was taken from a view point tower at the state part. The road running through the colors looked like a giant tree with colorful leaves from top.
